2:30 Listener Mail
Thanks for the invite to Penguincon; D’gou commented on the Mistress Matisse interview and on how he listens to PW; Barbie from Kentucky leaves a voice comment about dealing with one partner being more popular (read as: gettin’ more action!) than the other in a relationship; 9:00 Dave from New Mexico calls in a voice comment in reference to PW #94 about Kay’s question about dealing with being disabled in a poly relationship; he suggests working to deal with it so as not to make your partner feel guilty and water therapy; 13:50 Darkmane asks about the legal ramifications of poly getting legal status; 16:50 an old email from John about how people deal with new information (kink, poly, etc.)

22:00 Correspondent: My Big Poly House
Laurie contributes a segment that we hope will be recurring on how she and her boyfriend Allen and his wife Patty are making arrangements to move into a home together and form a poly household. Today’s segment: finances and arranging bank accounts, take one!

25:15 Topic: Polyamory and the Prisoner’s Dilemma
Something I’ve been wanting to bring up since I first posted about it after reading Tacit’s post on the subject–about coming in to meeting your partner’s OSO’s with skepticism and distrust or with vulnerability and honesty

For those that are interested in how to “win” the prisoner’s dilemma, check out this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tit_for_tat

Also, there’s a great segment about the prisoner’s Dilemma in “Nice Guys Finish First” a documentary on the BBC with Richard Dawkins.

  • Hi minx!

More revelations are out about Keroack, though at this point they’re just nails in the coffin:

Regarding legalising polygamy or some form of multiple marriage, and if that would lead to abuses as seen in some polygamous societies, including things like child rape – all of those abuses are seen just as often in societies that allow only a single legal spouse. It isn’t the polygamy which allows the abuses, it’s the framework of laws surrounding it. I don’t believe that allowing multiple legal spice would in any way encourage or allow abuse, any more than current marriage laws encourage or allow it.

Is that “spice” as in plural of “spouse”? If so, brilliant.

I have been a listener for a month or two, but have only just caught up (I can’t just listen to a podcast, I have to get every episode in the archives that catches my eye–and PW has a lot!). I therefore have many things to say that I will probably throw in an email at some point, but I specifically wanted to comment on the lovely new website!

I heard an excerpt from your interview with Raven Kaldera on the PW 100 retrospective, when I hadn’t known that you’d interviewed him–and I LOVE Raven Kaldera and couldn’t figure out how I could have missed his episode. So I was able to search the site and found FOUR episodes referencing him. It made my day. So kudos to the website guru, whose name I cannot presently recall.

Anything else I will save for a lengthier medium like email or even–gasp–a voice comment. Skritches to the Minx.
