Tantra is a collection of ancient religious practices, the majority of which have nothing to do with sex. Referring to Tantric Sex (aka Neotantra) as Tantra is a common and forgivable mistake by lay people. That many self-described practitioners also refer to it incorrectly, however, is problematic; even if well-meaning, it’s tone-deaf Orientalism.
